HUEBENER 1992
HUEBENER was produced at Brigham Young University on the Pardoe Stage. It was directed my Ivan Crosland. This relatively new script (though this was not the premiere) requires a fair number of locations, so the principle approach was to develop a unit set that allowed for various placements. Aerial pieces were added to "complicate" the world of the lead character, and to prepare use for the prison environment in which he would end his life. I also wanted the audience to sense the loss of family and community that Hitler brought to these characters. By the end of the show, once all the platforming was lit up, the audience became aware the characters were on a gigantic swastika, symbolic of Hitler's reign.
