THE TALES OF HOFFMANN 1985
For this production in the deJong Concert Hall at Brigham Young University, the director, Clayne Robison, asked for a moody, internal look at the characters. The space was open and dark with only fragments of scenic elements, and so pools of light were used to cut the characters out of the dark space. Less color was also used, only applied for emotional response at moments in the story.
